Humidity is one of the key indicators of the chicken house environment, which is as important as temperature and air quality of the chicken house. How much humidity is suitable for chicken growth? What is the effect of high or low humidity on chickens?
1、 Suitable humidity
Chickens: Under the appropriate temperature (33 ~ 35 ℃ for 1-2 days of age, 2 ~ 3 ℃ for weekly cooling), the relative humidity range is 70% ~ 75% for the first week, 60% ~ 65% for the second week, and 55% ~ 60% for the third week and later.
Egg laying period: the relative humidity range is 55%~60% under the appropriate temperature (15~22 ℃).
2、 Effect of humidity
High humidity
1. If the humidity is too high, the growth and development of the chicks will be blocked, the disease resistance will decline, the incidence rate will be high, and the chicks will be vulnerable to coccidia and other diseases.
2. The feed is prone to mildew. The mold propagates rapidly in the feed, destroying the feed ingredients, reducing the feed intake and egg production rate of breeding chickens. At the same time, aspergillosis will occur after the moldy feed is taken.
3. The living environment is humid, which increases the possibility of contamination of the breeding eggs. During the incubation process, bacteria may burst due to excessive bacterial reproduction, or cause dead embryos, weak embryos or weak chicks. The mortality rate at the early stage of brooding is high.
Too low humidity
1. It causes a large amount of water in the body of the chicks to be distributed with respiration, causing dehydration, poor absorption of yolk in the belly, and slow growth of feathers.
2. The dust in the chicken house flies, causing respiratory diseases of chickens.
3、 Corresponding measures
Too high humidity: the padding shall be replaced and the feces shall be cleaned in time. Generally, the padding shall be replaced once a day to two days, or a layer of dry padding shall be added.
Low humidity: increase the relative humidity to the ground and wall spray.
