The diseases that spring chicken farming is prone to include:
Cockscomb fester: As the temperature rises and the humidity increases in spring, the incidence rate of chicken crown tinea will rise significantly. The main manifestation is that there is a silver white attachment or yellow scab on the chicken crown, which can form blisters in severe cases and cause pus to flow after rupture. one
Chicken respiratory disease: One of the common diseases in spring chicken farms, with main symptoms such as difficulty breathing, runny nose, and tears. The disease has a long course and timely treatment is controllable. two
Broiler ascites syndrome: It often occurs in young chickens aged 4-5 weeks old. Symptoms of the diseased chicken include abdominal distension, purple head and face, difficulty breathing, and gradual exhaustion leading to death. three
Escherichia coli disease: In spring, high temperatures and poor ventilation in chicken coops can easily lead to the development of Escherichia coli disease in chickens, which can cause symptoms such as diarrhea and loss of appetite. four
Newcastle disease: Spring is a high incidence season for Newcastle disease, which can cause symptoms such as high fever, shortness of breath, and diarrhea in chickens. In severe cases, it can lead to chicken death.
H9 subtype influenza: The typical symptoms of diseased chickens are bleeding scales in the feet, yellow white green loose stool, black purple crown, dry necrosis at the edges, swelling of the face and flesh beard, and some diseased chickens making strange noises and stretching their heads and necks upwards. five
Mycoplasma synovialis: Sick chickens lying in cages may experience paralysis, limping, inability to stand or stand on one leg. The joints, paw pads, and chest keels of the diseased chickens may swell, thicken, or protrude, causing a wave sensation when touched.
Salmonellosis in chickens: Sick chicks are afraid of cold and clumping up, causing diarrhea and the discharge of lime like loose feces, commonly known as "anal paste".
The above diseases require timely treatment, and attention should also be paid to strengthening management, such as improving the feeding environment, keeping warm while ventilation, avoiding the feeding of drugs that are highly toxic to the kidneys and liver, and not overfeeding antibiotics.
