The whole process of raising chickens: 2
Three, feed the feed cleverly. Feed is an important factor affecting meat quality. High-quality native chickens should be fed with easy-to-digest and nutritious full-price chicken feed during the brooding period. Because of its slower growth rate, the crude protein content in the feed is 2% lower than the full price of fast and large broiler chickens, and small meals are required to promote the growth and development of chickens. Feed more green fodder, agricultural by-products, and miscellaneous grains during the rearing and grazing period to improve the meat quality and reduce the feed cost. Generally, the compound feed is supplemented only after returning late. In the 12 weeks before the sale, if the chicken body is thinner, the compound feed can be increased to restrict grazing for moderate fattening. Animal feeds such as silkworm pupa, fish meal, meat meal, etc. cannot be added to the compound feed in the middle and late stages. Use rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal and other feeds that have an adverse effect on meat quality and color. Do not add artificial synthetic pigments, chemically synthesized non-nutritive additives and drugs. Add proper amount of orange peel powder, pine needle powder, garlic, ginger, fennel, cinnamon, tea powder and other natural substances to change the color of the flesh, improve the quality of the flesh and increase the umami taste.
Fourth, strict epidemic prevention. Doing a good job in epidemic prevention and disease elimination is an important guarantee for raising high-quality free-range native chickens. Under normal circumstances, the disease resistance of free-ranged native chickens is stronger than that of fast-bred large broilers. However, due to the long breeding period and the many opportunities for grazing in the wild to contact pathogens, it is necessary to strictly perform sanitation, disinfection and epidemic prevention work in accordance with the requirements of chicken breeding. There must be no slack. According to the local actual focus, the following immunization procedures recommended for epidemic prevention work are as shown in Table 1. Show. 12 hens In addition, special attention should be paid to the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis, leucocytosis and gastrointestinal parasitic diseases. Frequent inspections, once it occurs, promptly get rid of broiler chickens in the middle and late stages of disease prevention and control, as far as possible, do not use synthetic drugs, use traditional Chinese medicine and adopt biological control to reduce and control drug residues in chicken.
Five, timely sales. Appropriate feeding period is an important part of improving meat quality. Feeding period is too short. The water content in chicken is more than the accumulation of nutrients. The content of umami and aromatic substances is not enough. The meat quality is not good and the taste is not fresh. The feeding period is too long and the muscle fiber is too old. The feeding cost is too large and uneconomical. According to the growth physiology of native chickens and the accumulation characteristics of nutrients, as well as the characteristics of roosters growing faster than hens and early sexual maturity, it is determined that small broiler males will go on the market at 100 days and hens will be listed at 120 days. Medium-sized broilers will go on the market at 110 days and hens at 130 days. At this time, the body weight of the marketed chicken, the accumulation of nutrients, umami and aromatic substances in the chicken basically reach the content standard of the adult chicken, and the meat quality and tenderness are the better combination of body weight, quality and cost.
