1. Effective ventilation: Many breeders often use improper methods to effectively ventilate their chicken coops, such as installing an electric fan inside the coop to blow air directly onto the chicken body. However, this method actually has little cooling effect. Because the chicken itself does not have sweat glands, it only blows air. Evaporation without sweat cannot carry away heat, and most of them are installed ceiling fans. The wind blows from top to bottom, which further prevents the rise of hot air, hinders the entry of low-temperature air, and circulates hot air inside the chicken coop, making it more likely to cause an increase in environmental temperature. Some breeders, although aware of blowing air from the outside in or outside to create convection, cannot understand which fan should blow inward and which fan should blow outward, resulting in poor results. In fact, this is not difficult to grasp, because hot air inside the house flows upwards and cold air flows downwards. As long as the fan that blows air into the house is installed below and the air is discharged from above, it can form effective convection and take away some of the heat from the chicken body, which will have a good cooling effect. 2. Many farmers know that water spraying can cool down, but they don't know how to apply it. Sometimes, the method used is incorrect and can have the opposite effect. Firstly, one should understand the principle of water spray cooling. Water spray cooling uses liquid water to evaporate in the air and absorb heat through evaporation to cool down, so it is important to consider this aspect when spraying water. Firstly, by utilizing the evaporation of water, it is necessary to form mist, which not only increases the surface area of water but also prevents large water droplets from falling on the chicken, causing stress or forming a "drowned chicken". The time for spraying water should be selected in dry, hot, and windy weather to be effective. This is also beneficial for water evaporation and should not be carried out on hot and humid sauna days. That only increases humidity, saturates the air with water, does not evaporate, and does not have a cooling effect. It will also have the opposite effect. At this point, just strengthen effective ventilation. 3. Timely drinking water. Every time high temperatures occur, there are farmers who die of chickens due to water shortages. In addition to common problems such as water shortage, leakage, and blocked pipes, another important reason is that due to the hot weather, some chickens occupy the drinking water area. For example, when using a hanging kettle to drink water, if one or two chickens climb onto the hanging kettle, the other chickens cannot drink water, causing dehydration and death. So the hotter the weather, the more frequent it is for farmers to observe inside the house and promptly solve any problems. 4. Reasonable exercise occurs during hot and humid summers, especially before heavy rain or during periods of high temperature and humidity, when the air pressure is particularly low. If individual chickens squat on one side for a long time without moving, it is likely to cause hypoxia and death, which usually occurs in the afternoon or evening. So at this time, it is necessary to regularly observe the chicken coop and encourage the movement of the flock, which can reduce death and losses.
