Five, seize the brooding gate

It takes only 17 days for quail eggs to hatch small quails. The young quails just out of their shells have poor adaptability to the external environment and should be kept warm. The temperature of the cage should be maintained at 35-38℃ after the shelling for 1 to 2 days to accelerate the absorption of the egg yolk in the abdomen, and the navel is well collected. After that, the temperature should be lowered by 0.5°C every day, and the temperature should be kept at a constant temperature when it drops to about 25°C. In addition, the quail should be given food in a timely manner.

After one day out of the shell, feed some steamed egg yolks and crushed corn. One week later, feed the mixed feed, 5-6 times a day (including 2 times at night). It is advisable to mix the feed wet, knead it with your hands to form a dough and loosen it, and feed cold water frequently. It is generally raised for 50 days to mature and begin to lay eggs.

Six, forced moult

If the second egg laying cycle is used, manual moulting is required. The implementation method is: stop feeding for 4-7 days in darkness, forcing the laying quails to stop production quickly, then shed feathers, and then gradually add feeding to quickly resume laying. It only takes 20 days from stopping feeding to resuming production. Sick and weak individuals must be eliminated, and drinking water must not be interrupted.

7. Disease control

①Gastroenteritis

Diarrhea, weakness, coma, etc. caused by mold rotten feed or improper feeding, you can mix furazolid or charcoal powder into the feed for 3 days, stop for 2 days, and then feed 1 or 2 times, or mix oxytetracycline in the feed , Feed for 5 days. Sulfamidazole or sulfamethazine can also be mixed into the feed and fed twice a day for 5 to 6 days.

② Pullorum

It is caused by Salmonella bacteria, such as non-eating, white discharge, foul-smelling and thin feces, etc., can be mixed with furazolidine into the feed and fed for 3 days, stop feeding for 2 days and then feed for 3 days, and stop feeding when the stool is normal. Oxytetracycline can be added to the feed and fed for 6 days, or sulfadiazine can be mixed into the feed at a ratio of 0.5% and fed for 3 days, and then fed for 3 days after stopping for 2 days.

③Prolapse and dystocia

It is caused by premature delivery or malnutrition during the egg-laying period. The prevention method keeps the feed nutrient comprehensive, prevents the female quail from getting overweight and prevents fallopian tube diseases. When it is difficult to give birth, lightly press the abdomen with your hand to help it lay eggs. When prolapse, rinse the anus and rectum with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution, and then gently return it to the body.
