How to raise rabbits in summer

1. Insulation of the rabbit house In summer, the temperature is high and the solar radiation is strong. The heat outside the house is mainly transmitted into the house through the doors, windows, walls and roof of the rabbit house. Therefore, attention must be paid to the heat insulation of the rabbit house structure, especially the roof or cage. Insulation measures must be taken. The walls of the rabbit house are light-colored, preferably white, to reduce the radiant heat of the sun.

2. Rabbit house ventilation This is one of the main measures to prevent heatstroke in the rabbit house. The ventilation of the rabbit house can not only dissipate the heat generated and accumulated in the house, but also help the rabbit body to dissipate heat, so as to alleviate the adverse effects of high temperature on the rabbit. When the air in the rabbit house is relatively dry, the wet cooling method can be used to cool down, and the airflow can be increased to enhance the cooling effect.

The rabbit house should make full use of natural ventilation. The site should be in an open area, and there must be a large distance between the buildings. The distance between the two rows of rabbit houses should be 1.5-2 times the height. The direction of the rabbit house is determined according to the main wind direction of the local summer, and it is generally better to go south. When natural ventilation cannot meet the requirements, mechanical ventilation is still needed.

3. Measures for sunshading in the rabbit house include widening the eaves, setting up a pergola, planting trees, planting climbing plants, hanging curtains, and sun shielding outside the windows. However, there is a certain contradiction with the hair collection and ventilation in the house, so it should be fully considered and handled properly.
