[Cultivation technology] Experience sharing of old farmers: feeding and management of chickens for seven days before brooding
1. Appropriate brooding temperature
Before the chickens arrive at the house, the temperature of the house should be preheated to 35℃~37℃. After the chicks arrive at the brooder house, they need to adapt to the new environment. At this time, the chicks rest normally. It should start to spread out in the house, and begin to drink, eat, and move freely, and evenly spread out in the house after 24 hours. If the chicks still get together 24 hours after entering the house, the temperature in the house may be too low. If the temperature is too high, the chickens will open their mouths and sag their wings.

2. Ensure proper relative humidity
After the chicks enter the brooder house, they must maintain appropriate relative humidity, and the humidity should be controlled between 65% and 70%. In autumn and winter, additional heating is required. If necessary, you can install a heating sprinkler, or you can splash some water on the aisle.
3. Drinking water for the first time in time
The first drinking water after the chicks come out is called FTW. Boiling water in time helps the chicks to absorb the remaining egg yolk in their abdominal cavity. If the FTW cannot be FTW 48 hours after the chicks are out of the shell, the number of chicks with an anal amputation will increase significantly. Generally, FTW should be within 15 to 24 hours after it is released. Drinking 5-8% of sugar water for 2 to 3 days at FTW can not only prevent chicks from getting anal but also reduce early mortality of chicks.
4. Start eating at the right time
The first feeding of chicks after they are out of the shell is called open food. The time for chicks to start eating is about 24 hours after hatching, and it should not exceed 36 hours at the latest. The feed to be eaten should be fresh, and the particle size should be moderate so that the chicks are easy to peck, and the feed needs to be nutritious and digestible. Commonly used are broken corn, millet, broken rice, broken wheat, etc. The starting material can be cooked until eight mature and then fed, which is conducive to the digestion of chicks. Feed 5 to 7 times a day. After starting food for 2 to 3 days, gradually switch to chick mix for normal feeding. Feed 4 to 5 times a day.

5. Density and light
The most important point of raising chickens is to maintain a reasonable density so that the chicks can eat evenly, and keep the chickens neatly developed and healthy growth. The density should be adjusted according to the age of the chicks, breed, feeding method, season and structure of the house. The reasonable density of flat chicks is 0~4 weeks old 20~25 per square meter; 5~7 weeks old 10~20 per square meter. The reasonable density of online brooding is 0~4 weeks old 24~28 per square meter; 5~7 weeks old 15~20 per square meter. The reasonable lighting time for chicks is: 24-hour light for 1 to 3 days, 16 to 19 hours for 4 to 14 days, and natural light after 15 days.
6. Ventilation
In the brooding stage, due to the high temperature of the chicken house and the high density of the chicks, the chicken manure and feed are very prone to spoilage and fermentation, generating a large amount of ammonia and other harmful gases. Therefore, the ventilation of the brooding room should be strengthened to keep the air in the brooder house fresh. Before ventilating, the medicine first raises the temperature of the brooding room by 1 ℃ ~ 2 ℃, while ventilating it can also ensure the temperature of the brood. It is best to choose the time of ventilation around noon on a sunny day. Ventilation should be carried out slowly, the opening degree of doors and windows should be from small to large, and finally, it is half-open. Never open the doors and windows suddenly, let the cold wind blow directly, and make the house temperature drop suddenly.
7. Epidemic prevention
According to the local actual situation, choose a reasonable immunization program for vaccination. Pay special attention to the vaccination, the vaccine variety should be consistent with the age of the flock, and the vaccination methods of various vaccines (mainly eye drops, nose drops, injections, sputum, etc.) have their own strict regulations, and the vaccine instructions Do it. In addition, the house must be thoroughly disinfected regularly to keep the house dry, clean and hygienic. During brooding, preventive drugs can be added to the feed and drinking water, and sick chickens should be isolated and treated in time.
