Scientific chicken raising: how to raise chickens? 10 points of basic knowledge of chicken raising
1. Choose a good breed
In the production of chickens, improved varieties are the basis for increasing the commodity rate, reducing production costs and improving economic benefits. Professional households should determine whether to raise broilers or laying hens and which breed to choose according to the local market supply and demand and their own conditions. At the same time, they must have sufficient knowledge of the breeding technology and production performance of the selected breed to avoid blindly introducing breeds.
Second, choose a good chicken
The quality of the miao chicken is the basic factor for obtaining better chicken-raising benefits. Chicken farmers must choose breeding chickens provided by breeders with good reputation, a certain production scale, and high technical level, and drink water with enrofloxacin hydrochloride at a concentration of 0.01% at the first week of age to eliminate Salmonella and mildew. At the same time, disinfection, isolation and epidemic prevention work should be done for pathogenic microorganisms such as slurry.
Three, self-prepared feed
Professional households can prepare full-price compound feeds to meet the needs of different physiological stages of chickens according to the feeding standards and local conditions, or prepare them by themselves according to the formula provided by the technicians, which will generally reduce the cost of feed per 100 kg by 10-20 yuan.
Fourth, add yeast
Appropriately add high-quality yeast feed to reduce the amount of imported fish meal added to the feed. Generally, the nutritional value of every kilogram of active yeast powder is not less than 1 kilogram of imported fish meal, and it is about 1.6 yuan per kilogram.
5. Improve feeding equipment and reduce feed consumption
① Improve the design of the trough. Feed trough application According to the age of the chicken, choose a suitable eaves trough, and the height of the trough should be 2 cm higher than the back of the chicken.
② Change flat rearing to cage rearing. The flat rearing method occupies a lot of houses and wastes feed. Cage-bred chickens live in cages, with less activity and less material consumption.
③The temperature of the chicken house should be moderate. Keep warm in winter and prevent heat in summer, especially the temperature of the chicken house in winter should not be lower than 10°C. If the ambient temperature is too low, the chicken body must produce more heat to maintain body temperature. Therefore, it consumes more materials and lower feed returns.
6. Disease Prevention and Control
1. Qualified chicken farmers must conduct antibody monitoring, so as to ensure timely vaccination and ensure the quality of immunity.
2. Strictly control the quality of vaccines. Purchase vaccines from reliable quality vaccine production and supply units. Strictly prevent vaccine production and supply units from purchasing vaccines. Strictly prevent vaccine clutter, otherwise it will cause antibody instability, and repeated immunization will be required.
3. Strictly follow the immunization procedures. A rigorous and scientific immunization plan should be formulated according to the actual situation, and the prevention and control of Marek's disease, Newcastle disease, Gumball disease, fowl cholera and chicken pox should be done.
4. Add antibacterial drugs to the diet to prevent infection. Such as antibiotics or sulfa drugs, prevent diarrheal diseases (such as white diarrhea), but pay attention to the dosage and mixing evenly, and the feeding time should not be too long.
5. Strengthen the preservation of feed to prevent diseases caused by feed mildew.
Seven, feeding management
1. Disinfect the chicken house and environment regularly to keep the chicken house dry and hygienic. Deworming regularly, free-range chickens are generally dewormed once a week, using broad-spectrum, high-efficiency and low-toxic deworming drugs.
2. Eliminate roosters in time. In the brooding stage, male chicks consume about 25% more feed than female chicks. If they are not eliminated in time, they will not only consume more feed and occupy more feeding area, but also affect the normal growth and development of hens, so it is best to just hatch Eliminated. The ratio of male to female in the breeder flock should be appropriate. The ratio of male to female for egg breeder and broiler breeder is 1:15-20 and 1:10-14 respectively. If artificial insemination technology is used, the ratio of male to female can be increased to 1:30-50, thereby reducing material consumption.
3. Pay attention to the flock of chickens, and eliminate weak or low-yielding chickens in time. Under normal circumstances, these chickens account for 5% to 8% of the total, and up to 11%. They should be found and eliminated in time.
4. Give proper light. The suitable light time for laying hens is 16 hours. For free-range laying hens, add half an hour per week to 16 hours of light from the age of 18 weeks. The lamp power is 2.7~3 watts per square meter (in practical applications, the lamp height is usually 2 meters and the lamp distance is about 3 meters). Pay attention to turn on and turn off the lights on time, and keep the lighting hours and brightness constant.
5. Timely cutting the beak can not only prevent the flock's beak addiction, but also effectively reduce feed waste. The time of beak cutting and beak trimming were 6-9 days and 12-17 weeks old, respectively.
6. Adopt the feeding management system of "all in and all out" to facilitate disinfection, disease prevention and scientific management.
8. Group breeding
Group breeding is one of the important measures for chicken production. As a feeding management unit, the appropriate group should adapt to its own facilities, feed and technical measures. Broiler flocks should not be too large. Generally, about 400 chickens are used as a group, and the group should be divided into groups from time to time. The stocking density should be 10-15 per square meter. Feeding males and hens in groups is not only conducive to the growth and development of hens, improves neatness and commodity rate, but also better adapts to the market. The roosters grow fast and have a large body. They can be slaughtered 7-10 days earlier, and hens can be slaughtered late. It can be sold as a whole chicken cooking edible chicken, which can obviously improve economic benefits.
Nine, high price sale
The market price of broiler chickens at the time of slaughter has a great impact on the economic benefits of raising broiler chickens. Therefore, breeders should always understand market information and determine the time and quantity of chickens according to the local chicken breeding volume and the demand for chickens. When rushing to rush, raise less or not, and when everyone stops raising, raise more by themselves, so as to benefit greatly. But be careful not to blindly wait for the price to rise and extend the week age of the flock. This is not cost-effective, because after 8 weeks of age, broiler feed returns will decrease, the mortality rate will be high, and overweight is not necessarily good for sales. Therefore, according to market conditions and your own actual situation, you should be listed in a timely manner.
10. Reduce expenses
Farmers need to raise chickens simply because they don’t need to construct reinforced concrete houses. They can use plastic greenhouses with small investment. The use of water, electricity, and medicine should be reasonable, and various appliances and equipment should be maintained to extend the service life, reduce unnecessary waste, and do everything possible to reduce the cost of raising chickens, thereby improving economic benefits
