1、 Can quail be raised in free range
1. Can quails be raised in free range
(1) Quails can be raised in free range, but it is difficult because they have the ability to fly, so they cannot be raised like chickens.
(2) If you want to raise quails in a loose range, you need to provide a large breeding site, which should be surrounded and capped. However, this is not easy to manage, so it is recommended to directly raise them in captivity.
2. How to manage breeding quail
(1) Thermal insulation management
At the initial stage of brooding, the temperature should be kept at 35-37 ℃ as much as possible, and then lowered by 1-2 ℃ every day. When the temperature gradually decreases to around 24-26 ℃, the temperature can be removed by holding for 20 days.
(2) Lighting management
For quails aged 3-4 days, provide 24 hours of light per day to promote their growth and development.
(3) Feeding management
Start with a mixture of wheat flour, corn, crushed rice, and gradually switch to a full price mixed feed after 2-3 days, and feed a small amount of antibiotics to enhance their immunity.
2、 How big is a quail usually
1. Adult male quails generally weigh around 76-106 grams, while female quails typically weigh around 78-96 grams, with a lifespan of around 2 years.
2. Female and male quails are suitable for breeding in groups, enabling them to mate regularly. If it is not convenient to group, they can also be mixed bred. When mixing, the ratio between female and male quails should be 3:1.
3. During the breeding period, it is necessary to use foods rich in nutrients and low in fiber as feed as much as possible. The feed can be composed of soybean cakes, fish meal, alfalfa grass, cabbage, carrots, corn flour, wheat bran, calcium carbonate, salt, rice bran, bone meal, and other substances. If necessary, an appropriate amount of complex vitamins, antibiotics, and trace elements can be added. The feed to be fed should be relatively stable, and a gradual transition should be made when replacing the feed.
4. Can be fed four times a day, feeding should be timed, quantitative, and qualitative. For quails aged 9-10 weeks, the feeding principle is "feed as much as you can eat".
